This is the only Vietnamese project among the top 30 film projects worldwide selected to participate in the event, affirming the growing appeal of Vietnamese cinema on the international stage.
The Asian Project Market (APM), an important part of the Asian Contents & Film Market in Busan, concluded after three days (from September 20 to 23) featuring pitching sessions and one-on-one meetings between filmmakers and international partners.

This year, APM featured 30 projects from around the world in competition, with Flying Cows standing out by winning the prestigious Kantana Award for Best Picture — one of the event’s notable special prizes. Directed by Nguyen Pham Thanh Dat and produced by Nguyen Huu Thi Tuong Vi, the project triumphed over numerous competitors to earn this recognition.
The first feature film by young director Nguyễn Phạm Thành Đạt mixes drama, crime, romance and fantasy, bringing a story about love, people and ideals.
It is a story about a dairy farm in the process of industrialisation, where Trâu, a poor farmer, is asked to steal a secret milk formula in hopes of lifting his family out of poverty.
However, he falls in love with San, the boss's daughter and the person holding the formula, forcing Trâu to face a tough choice - the future of his family or the girl he can't betray.
Before Busan, Flying Cows won the Best Genre Project award from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPA) within the framework of the third Đà Nẵng Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) Project Market 2025 in early July.
