For the first time, Vietnamese cinema will be showcased in Paris — the global capital of culture, art, and fashion — through “Vietnam Film Week – The Journey of Light” Week, taking place from December 5 to 12, 2025.
The event is organized by the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA) and AVSE Global, under the patronage of the Embassy of Socialist Republic of Vietnam in France.
Le Grand Rex – A European Cinema Landmark Welcomes Vietnam
The opening ceremony of “Vietnam Film Week – The Journey of Light” will be held at Le Grand Rex, a legendary European cinema that has been recognized by Time Out as the most beautiful movie theater in the world.
This milestone marks a significant step in Vietnam’s cultural and cinematic promotion abroad, offering a vibrant event for filmmakers, artists, and international audiences to connect and exchange through the language of cinema — right in the heart of Paris, the “City of Light.”
17 Films – A Half-Century Journey of Vietnamese Cinema
The program will feature 17 landmark Vietnamese films, spanning from classics that laid the foundation of the nation’s film heritage to award-winning contemporary works that have garnered international recognition.
Each film represents a piece of Vietnam’s cinematic evolution — a reflection of Vietnamese people, memories, and spirit across generations.
Through these stories, French audiences will gain deeper insight into a Vietnam that is both rooted in tradition and dynamically integrated into the modern world.
Cinema - Cultural bridge between Vietnam and France
Beyond film screenings, “Vietnam Film Week – The Journey of Light” serves as a cultural bridge between Vietnam and France, where artists, directors, and audiences come together to engage in meaningful dialogue about art, humanity, and Vietnamese cultural values.
The event is part of the cultural initiative “Vietnam – The Symphony of Love (VSL)”, launched by AVSE Global, which aims to promote the image of a creative, dynamic, and inspiring Vietnam to international audiences.
