The event is jointly organized by the Da Nang People's Committee and the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA), with support from many domestic and international film organizations.

It aims to enhance international film cooperation, promote the image of Da Nang, and foster the development of Vietnam’s film industry.
DANAFF IV will feature two competition categories: Asian Film Awards (12 - 14 films) and Vietnamese Film Awards (8 - 12 films), open to feature films produced within the prescribed period and officially licensed for release.
Non-competition film screenings continue to be the highlight of the forthcoming festival, with “Vietnamese Cinema Today”, a selection of Vietnamese films to mark 40 years of the implementation of the ‘Doi Moi’ (Renewal) Process, a U.S. cinema spotlight, a panorama of Asian cinema, films themed on Da Nang, and a number of films by renowned international directors and artists.
Notably, DANAFF IV will include a wide range of professional events, such as seminars on the film industry, intellectual property protection, the appearance of Vietnamese cinema after 40 years of renewal; advanced classes with international experts; and the Young Talents program, the Film Project Market, the film industry networking sessions, screenwriting training and the DANAFF’s Cinephiles community-building initiative.
This year, DANAFF IV is expected to welcome about 900 delegates, artists, filmmakers, experts, of which about 200 are international guests.
The opening, closing and award ceremonies are set to take place at the Ariyana International Convention Center, and be broadcast live on VTV and relayed by the Da Nang Newspaper, Radio and Television.
DANAFF IV will continue to award prizes for outstanding Asian and Vietnamese films, directors, actors and screenwriters. The top award in the Asian film category is worth VND 135 million, whilst jury prizes and awards for actors, directors, and screenwriters range from VND 54 to VND 81 million.
The Vietnamese film category will have corresponding prize levels, with the Best Vietnamese Film receiving VND 70 million. Additionally, there will be the NETPAC Award, the Critics’ Award, and the Audience Choice Award for the most popular Vietnamese film.
