During the trip to Busan, Korea in September 2025, the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA) held an important working session with the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) and signed a Letter of Intent with the K-Culture Education Association for Young (KEY), aiming to strengthen international cooperation and foster the development of Vietnam’s film industry in 2025–2026.
At the meeting with KOFIC, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation through joint film productions, the development of a Vietnam-Korea cinema database, exchange programs for experts and artists, co-hosted seminars on film production in both countries, and collaborative training of young talent via the DANAFF Talents program and Project Market. These initiatives represent concrete steps to build on the success of previous Vietnam-Korea collaborations, while expanding opportunities for young Vietnamese filmmakers to access international markets.

In particular, VFDA and KEY signed a Letter of Intent on International Cultural Exchange, aimed at promoting the development of popular culture and cinema in both Vietnam and Korea. The two sides will collaborate in five key areas: film production and promotion, cultural and educational exchange, co-hosting events and forums, industry research and information-sharing, and global networking. Within this framework, KEY is also one of the supporting partners for the Vietnam Night at BIFF 2025, marking the start of a series of vibrant cultural exchange activities during 2025-2026.
